The greater the injustice that someone does to us is an opportunity to learn to love greater, including through forgiveness.
Scripture states that forgiveness doesn't include that someone has to associate with the person in who they are forgiving. All situations vary. But, if someone doesn't forgive in their heart, they aren't forgiven by God for their sins as well.
It can be hard to forgive someone at times. But, I found that for me it isn't difficult if I equate the truth of who I am compared to the truth of who Jesus is, and that Jesus has forgiven me anyway.
Jesus taught in Matthew 18:34-35 And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to his tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him. So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not everyone his brother their trespasses.
